The New Moon on Sunday January 6th (AEST) is an important Solar Eclipse. It draws our attention to the need for a realistic and down-to-earth approach regarding the waves of disruption that have been taking place to the status quo of the world as we have known it over the last ten years.
This Capricorn Solar Eclipse represents the harbinger of the up-and-coming conjunction between Saturn and Pluto,
in early 2020.
Culminating near the Mid-Heaven of the Solar Eclipse chart is the eclipsing New Moon with Saturn closing in on its conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn, which will be a major feature for 2020 and 2021, and one we can already feel as the powerful forces of demagogues and dictatorships, with their growing right-wing followers infiltrate what is left of democracies after the shifts of power which have been changing hands from communities and individuals to large corporations with their lobbyists and vested interests have been taking place especially in the last five years.
The oppressive corporate infrastructures are rendering many of us powerless in a world becoming increasingly automated and dehumanised.
‘Capricorn, the cardinal earth sign attributed to the Devil, represents manifestation and the attempt to scale peaks. As such, it is a very spiritual sign of the Earth Mother. But with the patriarchal competitive ideal, and the creation of a mountain of status, Capricorn’s ambition turns to physical gratification, power, and wealth. This winter earth sign represents the longest night of the year, Winter Solstice, and is known for its negativity. Without connection to what is spiritual, the human ego becomes immersed in the unreal; and since it pays attention to nothing else, the ego dismisses any other way of thinking as “unrealistic.” Just as the ego dominate the heart, the rational mind dominates the irrational, intuitive forces, and lives by the slogan, “if you can’t see it, you don’t have to believe it.”-‘
From: ‘Motherpeace ~ A way to the Goddess through Myth, Art and Tarot’ by Vicki Noble
Those in some of the most powerful roles on the planet are in denial of the biggest threat to life on Earth we have any records of as a species. Climate Change. Everything is fine in their backyards, and they don’t want that view to be ruined by looking at the Science and very obvious extreme weather patterns as well as life-threatening changes already occurring for many of us.
And yet in amongst this seemingly impenetrable wall of self-deceit is the fragmentation of the old world with its systems falling apart in front of us. Uranus is still squaring the Nodal Axis, breaking up old programs and soul memories, allowing the possibility of awakening into the New World. We must trust that we are being shown the ugliness of a domain imploding, with all its power structures falling apart for the new to emerge out of it.
Uranus is also semi-square Chiron and quincunx Venus, changing and healing old relationship paradigms, and clearing new pathways for the Goddess (Venus) to manifest.
Mars and Chiron are conjunct the Ascendant, and square to Mercury, which brings motivation and action to this process of clearing and healing.
The possibility of dreaming in the Utopian world of Oneness, Peace, Spirituality, equity and justice is one we’ve already had glimpses of, and is also an energetic part of this Eclipse map with the square between Jupiter and Neptune.
The culminating stellium in Capricorn of Mercury, Saturn, Sun, Moon, Pluto with the South Node of the Nodal Axis reflects that a collective soul shift is in the works, and that we need to all take responsibility for how to enable a balanced and sustainable re-structuring (Saturn in Capricorn) to occur within the transformational forces of a revolution in progress for our very survival and continuing relationship to our home: Gaia or Mother Earth.
In April 2014, expect evolutionary breakthroughs and important events.

The Virgo/Pisces full moon on March 16th was in a close square to the Galactic Centre at 27˚ Sagittarius, the heart of the Milky Way. Any alignment with the Galactic Centre provides tremendous energetic support for releasing old belief systems which have held us back from being on track with the expression of our essential selves. The opportunity was available for us to detach from our emotional reactions and spinning thoughts, and sit back as the impartial observer noticing that the power of that is so much more sustaining than the transitory dramas and events unfolding in our daily lives. At this stage Jupiter in Cancer is still moving into its square to Uranus in Aries and is giving momentum to the restless impartial and objective awareness that must precede the release of old beliefs and paradigms.
These signs portend that a lot of release could happen, and the unraveling of outmoded behaviors and reactions to our unfolding revolution in consciousness. I have heard from many friends and students that they felt a shift, like the freedom of seeing things in a fresh way has arrived or is at least palpable now.
As I write I can feel the collective emotional sphere growing thick and deep as the Moon enters Scorpio and we are confronted by our need for control, tempered by a watery grand trine with Mercury and Neptune in Pisces, Saturn in Scorpio and Jupiter in Cancer, we get a sense of the whole and our part in it, how much can we give and receive. If we allow ourselves to go beyond the rational and into the mystery as a form of reality, we will be able to accept that things are not always as they seem to the logical linear mind. The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight 370 is reminding us that not everything can be so easily explained.
These were the conditions present as we entered into the new astrological year on Friday morning (AEST), the Sun went into Aries and the Zodiac life cycle starts up again. The dark side of Aries is impatience, selfishness and insensitivity, but Aries is also the initiator, the pioneer who reminds us to be living in the present, free to create a more exciting and relevant future. Mars, the ruler of Aries is retrograde in Libra (until 20th May 2014), and tempers the usual forthright assertiveness of Aries which is already being somewhat softened by the watery trines, and Libra’s love of peace, which may be just as well with the trouble that’s brewing with Russia’s invasion of Crimea.
The New Moon on March 31st ~ 10˚Aries will be the catalyst for the important Grand Square of Uranus, Pluto, Jupiter and Mars which occurs between 20-23rd April. (* see reference below)
We will start sensing the upheavals being predicted by many astrologers at present, whether they’re sociological or seismic, there will be more of the shaking up which we’re becoming used to from the powerful square between Uranus and Pluto which started in 2012. The New Moon here is conjunct Uranus, and square Pluto and Jupiter. Mercury, Chiron and the Path of Fortune in Pisces are sitting on the ascendant for the new moon (5:48am AEDT), which I think will mean old issues to do with communications (or the lack thereof) will be brought up, and new information will release previously delicate matters for them to be brought up to the surface and integrated. It is an Aries New Moon afterall, so a good time to initiate new beginnings, allow your vision to cut forward into new territory.
On April 15th there will be a total Lunar Eclipse (5:45pm AEDT), visible along the East Coast of Australia if there is no cloud cover, at 25˚ Libra. Here there are quite a few oppositions amongst the Asteroids Vesta, Ceres and Juno, suggesting there could be issues and or awakenings for women and women’s issues. Also this Full Moon is closely connected to the Moon’s North and South Nodes, which means we could draw on some of our deeper DNA knowling and work within our souls to move forward into the new world.
The day when the big Cardinal Cross (*) will be closest is on April 22, at 13˚ of Cardinals, those people born in Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn at around 3rd or 4th April, July, October and January will be most powerfully affected by this, although we’ll all experience a revolution on some level, as the struggles for power, the breaking down of old world institutions and the status quo, personal and collective breakthroughs, the willingness and courage to try new things continues on its trajectory. This time with Mars and Jupiter involved with the Uranus/Pluto square, and the affects could be direct and expansive. Hold onto your hats!
In the midst of the Uranus, Pluto and Jupiter T-Square on the 29th April, a rare Annular Solar eclipse (A solar eclipse in which the moon covers all but a bright ring around the circumference of the sun.) at 4:17 pm (AEDT) and at 9˚ Taurus, should also be visible depending on how clear the sky is. This Full Moon will keep the energy going of the Uranus/Pluto square, amplifying the effects, as does Jupiter who is still within orb.
April 2014 is a very big month in our cosmic neighbourhood, astrologers have been talking about it for years. The revolution in consciousness is coming to a head, and big events politically, sociologically and/or seismically are being predicted. If you’ve been clearing the decks of outworn beliefs, and debris from you past, you will be able to take on board the possibility of evolutionary awakenings and movements towards our new Earth (if you haven’t read Eckhart Tolle’s ‘The New Earth’, do read it now!)
My take on the sign Aquarius
People say that all the signs have their good and bad qualities, and that one shouldn’t make qualitative statements about them. But I have to say that after studying, teaching and using Astrology as a tool for self-enquiry and development for nearly forty years, Aquarius is my favorite sign! And here is why: Aquarius is the humanitarian revolutionary who keeps all the other signs awake and on their toes. The catch phrase for Aquarius is: “I know”. This is because knowledge is a tool for the betterment of humanity, and Aquarius has an innate knowing sense.
Ruled by the planet Uranus, the planet of revolution, innovation, futuristic vision, genius (and yes, ‘madness’) Aquarius is a fixed air sign, so even though it enlightens us with enthusiasm (from the Greek enthousiasmos, to be inspired by a God) and de-light, natural intelligence and sense of adventure, it is able to powerfully concentrate and focus its energy onto a goal or outcome for the greater good of all beings. In old Astrology, before Uranus was discovered in 1781 (the same time as electricity), Saturn was the ruler of Aquarius while it co-ruled Capricorn. I believe that the taciturn economic and disciplined ways of Saturn are still in play in Aquarius. This means that all the idealism and enthusiasm is grounded in practical down-to-earth action, that doesn’t get blown away by flamboyant ego displays or corrupted by expressions of pride.
Aquarius often finds itself the ‘right face, in the right place, at the right time.’ It seems to naturally gravitate to the best situations and circumstances.
Having said all of these wonderful things about Aquarius, I have to say, that Aquarius struggles with intimacy and one-to-one relationships. It is everybody’s best friend, but is out-on-a-limb when it comes to relating to a significant other. This is because it deeply cares about the brotherhood of all mankind more than the nearest and dearests.
Ofcourse in describing an Astrological sign in this way, I am not necessarily describing people who have their Sun in Aquarius, although mostly they will be able to identify with some, if not all of these qualities. We all have all the signs in us, some of them will dominate more that others. Aquarius represents a facet of expression I find the most developed and sustainable especially as we enter into the Age of Aquarius. (more about that in another article soon)
This is an important time for the Aquarian side of life, and this is because of the ongoing square between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn, which we will go on being part of all this year and into 2015. This is the revolution of consciousness and the breaking down of the status quo as well as many outworn belief systems and modis operandi. The violent wars and turbulent natural disasters we are witnessing and participating in have a Uranus/Pluto 'feel' about them. The fires of transformation wielding great inroads into human consciousness, opening it up for the New Earth Eckhart Tolle talks about in his great book. The Aquarian Age of Enlightenment, where we all intrinsically know we are One, all part of the living breathing organism known as life on Earth.
Heralding February is the Super new Moon on January 30th in Aquarius which you can use to allow yourself to dream in and manifest goals or outcomes you feel the most enthusiastic about.
Mercury will go retrograde on February 6th until 28th. It will go into Aquarius, a much more pragmatic place for it than the dreamy poetic Pisces, on February 14th.
The most important transit is Jupiter in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn, with Venus within one degree of Pluto, on January 31st. We are still deeply questioning our values and beliefs, and there could be some secret uses and misuses of power which we become part of, or aware of in others. With our personal lives Venus is so close to this opposition, we will need to come from a place of love and receptivity, just listening quietly, instead of imposing what we think is correct through manipulation or domination. Under this transit there have to be some losses, so that gains can be made and the regeneration of the truth can be facilitated. After this Jupiter will sit on a square to Uranus until March 6th when it will also go direct and start moving through Cancer at its usual faster pace. This relationship between Jupiter and Uranus, can bring a lot of release and relief to the pressure which has been building up with the Uranus/Pluto square. Surprising situations and innovative resolutions will bring movement and change.
Joyful Sagittarius! The gift to us all with its natives expansive and philanthropic overview and sense of humour. However, at this time some Sagittarians will be feeling more sensitive and emotionally attuned than usual, and instead of their usual sweeping flights of delights, they could be feeling more internal and family orientated. This is because their ruling planet Jupiter is retrograde in Cancer and trine to Saturn in Scorpio. There's help with the internal work here, the healing of old fears, and a sense of how vast inner life can be.
The last time it was here was 2001, and as everyone remembers the world changed with 9/11. For a moment it looked like the outpouring of love and community could really change things. I think it did change people's attitude about how essential community is.
Mercury is in Scorpio as I write and will fly through Sagittarius only to enter Capricorn on Christmas day 25th December, so there's more Soul searching coming up, as Venus retrogrades (21st December) in Capricorn and stays in that sign until 5th March 2014. Venus in Capricorn is cautious and circumspect, unlikely to follow impulses, especially when she's retrograde. Mars will be entering Libra on 8th December, and make some strong aspects to Venus (ruler of Libra) early next year. (I will write more about that soon). This shows that relationships will need some adjustments, as people feel the need to express boundaries.
Uranus in Aries has been retrograde for the last five months and goes direct this month. Uranus is the awakener and rebel which is with its 'mate' Pluto shaking up our whole system at present. (see article) But in retrograde it had its kid gloves on. Now things are going to start moving again, as it goes direct unlocking the truth, setting us free; and then it squares Mars (Christmas day) and Pluto which is potentially a bit of powder keg situation, but I believe the influence of Libra, the peace lover and diplomat, and the trine to Saturn in Scorpio could keep things from exploding, and pave the way for cooperation, and deep healing.

Spring Equinox ~ October 2013
Our Spring Equinox down here in the Southern Hemisphere coincided with the so-called ‘Harvest Moon’ late last week, so-named in the Northern Hemisphere, and associated with creation and new beginnings.
I think its safe to say, we are all sensing Spring rising up and warming the Earth, flora and fauna coming alive again after the chill of winter. Our faces lighting up with smiles and bodies relaxing into the soft warm air.
The chart for the Equinox has the moon exalted in Taurus, the nature lover, rewarded with Spring, and the sensual aromas of the warming earth and her buds of joy and new life. The Taurus Moon is opposing Saturn, North Node and Venus in Scorpio and triggers the big and rare Grand Trine who’s influence we are still experiencing. (Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune conjunct Chiron in Pisces here’s what Melissa says ”This heavenly configuration which began to form in late June is one of the most important in our lifetime. A grand water trine is an aspect involving 3 or more planets in all 3 water signs which happens regularly. This Grand Trine is different because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event! It involves Jupiter in Cancer (occurs once in 12 years), Saturn in Scorpio (every 30 years) and most importantly Neptune in Pisces which happens only every 164 years and is more significant because Neptune rules Pisces, so is most powerful in its own sign.”
We are still under the influence of this Grand-trine ….and the Taurus moon opposing one of its points creates a kite-pattern is a catalyst for some of the more potent karmic lessons of responsibility in relationships. The Sun in Libra certainly puts us on notice to engage in our personal relationships. And the truth is that all our relationships form pieces in the greater puzzle of humankind, and its getting more and more crucial that we find a way of living and sharing our beautiful planet peacefully, as the environmental cataclysms threaten food and water shortages; the revolutions and revolts in the Middle East, wipe out civilisations and their people, and the powerful testing of values invoked by the big Pluto/Uranus (blog) square whose transformational forces we are still subject too: huge awakenings and quickening brushing away the cobwebs of the past established status quo, jolted and shaken into a new paradigm.
This month Pluto goes direct after five months of being retrograde.
Pluto reminds us that all external annoyances “out there” are in fact internal parts of ourselves projected onto life’s outer screen. Again its about taking responsibility for this, as the mutual reception of Saturn in Pluto’s home sign of Scorpio reminds us. Responsibility: the ability to respond!
Mars went into Leo end August and will be there until 15th October, it will then move into Virgo, where it can implement in a practical way the fiery passions it may have visited whilst in Leo. It will oppose Neptune in Pisces for a few days (19th-20th Nov) which is an excellent time to move into one’s ideals, and visualise the world you dream of.
If you find yourself feeling dissipated or exhausted, spend time near the ocean, or even soaking in a pool or bath will help hold you with this transit.
Mercury in Scorpio goes retrograde on 21st October until November 11th. Its only in Western astrology really that retrograde Mercury has gained such bad press. Especially in Scorpio, you are being invited into the deep interior spaces of your psyche: dive in and take some time out, and you won’t be dogged by computers or phones going on the blink.
There is a lot of potential of healing deep old patterns, the programs we often hold on a cellular level in our bodies early in October as the quincunx of Saturn, to Uranus, and its trine to Chiron support this kind of DNA shifting.
On the 18th of October until Nov 16th we have another exact Pluto square Uranus hit, so there could be some more big movements in our institutions, as collective values keep changing and evolving.
Take good care, allow yourself to feel all the feelings, this way deep healings can happen. Get support if you have fear or anger to clear, as now is the time for big openings.
This month's full Moon in Aquarius/Leo is actually a so-called blue Moon.
Quote: 'Contrary to popular belief, a blue moon is not actually blue in color. Blue moon is a term that is used to describe the third full moon of a season that has four full moons. A year has four seasons - Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter - with three months and three full moons each. When one of the seasons in a year has four full moons, instead of the usual three, the third full moon is called a blue moon. The next such blue moon will occur on 21 August, 2013.'
Blue moon's are quite rare, and signify a reminder for us that we are not in control of Nature, and that our calendar is constructed for our convenience. The metaphor here is that our own Nature cannot be boxed up and measured.
Especially not with an Aquarian Full moon!
Added to this we have what is known as a 'kite' pattern as well as a fixed grand square. This full moon is a wake-up call.
The kite, which in this instance consists of a grand trine of Saturn/North Node in Scorpio, Chiron in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer, shows that some extensive healing is taking place of ancient wounds, with the full moon as its trigger, it could easily be like the lancing of a boil, the sort of thing we're seeing in Egypt at present could well be part of this. (cross-fingers that in the bigger picture it is part of an healing process..) On a personal level, if there has been any nagging fear, doubt or pain in your body/mind, now is the time to take it into your heart centre and heal it. (The Sun is in the fifth house, Leo, associated with the heart). Facing up to things you've been putting off which may have been holding you back from experiencing the full joy of your Being can be hard at times, but when you focus on your heart centre and bring the courage and unconditional love to the question, you'll be surprised how miraculously the pain can be dispersed and transformed.
The fixed grand square connects to this kite pattern through Jupiter in Cancer, and is between Venus (in LIbra) Pluto in Capricorn, and Uranus in Aries (part of the important revolutionary square going on until 2015). With the Venusian influence, its time to shape-shift your more significant relationships, especially where you've been feeling that you're caught together in a sort of rut. Give some attention, some energy into refreshing the way you do things together, what parts are outmoded and don't work anymore and need a reality-check (Pluto in Capricorn, Saturn in Scorpio, mutual reception). You will reap expansion, release and clarity. (Jupiter opposing Pluto and squaring Uranus).
It is an important full Moon, best to dance with the energy consciously rather than avoid it, and find that you are faced with big decisions you'd rather not be making right now.
Take good care..
I welcome your comments and feedback.
May, with its two eclipses has opened with a sense of new possibilities.
After the powerful Scorpio/Taurus Lunar Eclipse on April 25th a passage opened for us to truly own the condition of our inner world as a precursor to outer experiences and situations. The Eclipse was like a bolt of lightening as it must appear from the depths of the ocean (the deep waters of Scorpio shaken and stirred!). This journey continues as we experience two more eclipses this month. The passage rambles on into the depths of the collective psyche, rattling away at outmoded belief systems and ivory towers constructed by our self-importance.
The New Moon in Taurus May 10th, 00:23am (EST, Australia) is an Annular Solar Eclipse.
The Solar Eclipses often bring manifestations into our outer worlds, and if you were affected by the Lunar Eclipse mentioned above, then you could find that things that got shaken loose, and hopefully were met by you in that week, will now show up as resolutions and manifestations. If not examined during that time (25th April), they could arise as issues to still be addressed in your outer world.
And then on May 24th we will have another partial Lunar Eclipse, (btw: which will powerfully affect those Sagittarians born 25-27th November). Remember Sagittarius prefers the truth, and so if there’s anymore tending to your internal landscape that needs doing now is the time to cultivate a broadminded approach to this. The Lunar Eclipses help us weed the gardens of our memories. Pull out any memories which are limiting new growth from happening into the light of your awareness. Acknowledge their existence, allow yourself to feel anything painful, so as to heal it; rejoice in the happiness of rich memories that have brought delight, and then let them go, merging and disappearing into all that is.
On that note about cultivating, I need to mention the Moon’s South Node which has been travelling in Taurus for eight months now and recently with the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Mars all accompanying it, we are reminded to come together in a natural and peaceful way to nurture the garden of our Earth, out Mother, who sustains us and holds us. The Scorpio North Node has certainly been showing many of us the results of our determined materialism and the need to prune excesses, so as to live a bigger and more community orientated shared life here on precious Gaia.
Also this month we have the third Uranus Square to Pluto transit (there are four more coming 2014-15). This great revolutionary cycle we are in (see more about that here) which is shaking up the status quo, allowing us to see through our automated conditioned ways and awakening us to our full potential. Perhaps technology and science are no longer rejecting notions the metaphysical world has accepted as truth for centuries, and are quietly looking into the possibility that we are multi-dimensional beings living in multi-dimensional realities, and that what we eat, breathe, think and share affects everything.
I notice that right wing parties and groups are forming and gaining momentum again here in Australia and UK, and I interpret that as a manifestation of fear.
Is it the fear of freedom and the right for us all to live in an equitable world?
In the thick of the big Uranus square Pluto transit I spoke about in several previous articles, any of the faster moving planets which come into aspect with either of these two revolutionaries will act as a catalyst to release some of the energy of their interaction.
Uranus in Aries is daring us to express what is true for each of us, rather than conforming to the sleep-walk of conditioning and society’s expectations for the status quo. Pluto in Capricorn will help ground and stabilize the momentum of this into something for the common good. Pluto is always at its most potent when dealing with issues at the core of survival, and these are times in which we are closely examining survival issues for all life on our precious Earth.
Mercury squared Uranus on the 3rd of January, and will square Pluto on January 6th at 10 degrees Capricorn. Here is an opportunity for us to allow our minds to start interpreting the Zeitgeest: the flavour of the Uranus/Pluto square, finding words to express the nature of this transformational aspect. If there’s something you want to protest about then now is the time to write letters to the editors of media, join in with discussions on social media or blogs which move you: find your voice and help with the breaking up of old-world models which are not working for us as we move forward into these precarious times: the birth of a new humanity. If you were around in the mid-sixties you will remember how we took to the streets and generated a wake-up call of a whole generation. As the old systems breakdown their power is weakening, and the biggest changes are coming from the grass roots up.
On January 7th Mars in Aquarius will come into a square with Saturn in Scorpio. In traditional astrology this aspect was often described as a death or an ending of something. I still think that applies, and I also see it as the ‘editing’ transit. Time to cull all those unnecessary belief systems, ideas and objects which no longer serve your needs. Both Aquarius and Scorpio are able to be (or strive to be) minimalists, keeping things simple and streamlined. You’ll feel obstructed and frustrated at this time if you are holding onto outmoded obstacles of clutter from your past in the form of concepts or material surroundings.
The New Moon on the 11th January joins Mercury, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn.
The feminine energy of the New Moon in Capricorn, sheds a silvery feminine luminosity into the hard-working planets in Capricorn and hopefully assist in the process already underway for women’s rights. Venus will square Uranus on January 12th at 5 degrees of Capricorn/Aries and conjunct Pluto at 10 degrees Capricorn on January 16th. The world wide protesting for women’s rights as well as an end to brutal ancient traditions in the Middle East and especially in India lately will continue and gain momentum as the powerful square pushes for equality and justice for all of humanity.
The end of an era and the birth of a new age
Congratulations! If you are reading this it means you have survived ‘the end of the world’, as predicted by the Mayan calendar recordings ending on 12.12.12.
The full moon in Cancer/Capricorn (28th December 2012) heralds a month which draws us all into the fullness of our feelings and soul stirrings, it is a time for families and communities to link up as we look back at the last four or five weeks and realize we’ve been living on the edge of a collective sense that something is ending and something new is being born. For many of us it has been a very challenging year, stretching us to our limits, testing us for our deepest values and giving us the grit to question the status quo perhaps like we never have before.
The end of the Mayan calendars long count (5,125 years) at the 2012 solstice (21.12.12) coincides with the formal beginning of a New World Age according to the Maya, and coincides with what we have been calling ‘The Aquarian Age’, which we’ve been hearing about, reading about and singing about for the last forty years. (refer to the musical ‘Hair’)
There is a shift of the galactic alignment of the 2012 solstice Sun, which could be associated with a possible formal beginning of a new cycle of precession: the beginning of the Aquarian age. Pisces is considered the last sign/constellation of the zodiac, that makes Aquarius the next age via precession, as it goes backwards through the twelve signs. The galactic center alignment occurs once every approximately 26,000 years. This precessional cycle comes about because of the earth’s minor wobble on its axis.
The Age of Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet of shocking and revolutionary change and awakening. It is associated with freedom, social justice, brotherhood, a new humanity and new technology. It is the energy of those acting for the greater common good.
We are still in the midst, and will be until March 2015 of an enormous revolution of consciousness as Uranus in fiery and directional Aries and Pluto in ambitious and conservative Capricorn, square each other seven times (which is rare) over the next 16 months or so. (see article)
The radical questioning and challenging of many of our well established institutions, some of them the pillars of our infra-structure and financial systems, like Wall Street, as well the whole banking system. And in other parts of the world: the Middle Eastern dictatorships, as well as the Capitalist system, the Communist system, and more recently that unstoppable institution in the US, the NRA, as the US faces up to its Second Amendment and whether or not everyone should be so freely entitled to carry weapons designed to kill other human beings, and whether this is actually appropriate in this day and age.
The combination of Uranus and Pluto in these 'first quarter' squares is potentially the most profoundly transformational and far-reaching of all the planetary combinations.
Our collective consciousness is also more and more moving towards a merging of us into ‘One’, which has also been described as one of the characteristics of this new Aquarian age, as we deeply sense how linked we all are, in our brotherhood, facing up to the biggest collective challenge: the environment. The world wide web is joining us all to each other intimately as we discover that we can change things profoundly from the grass roots up, using this brilliant technology.
Neptune’s passage into Pisces (see article) and Saturn’s move into Scorpio, a harmonious trine relationship between these two, is like salve to our weathered brows, holding our Souls for the deepest healing (with Chiron in Pisces too).
We somehow know that there has to be a revolution in consciousness for the new version of humanity to rise like a phoenix from the ashes of several thousand years of conflict, intolerance and materialism. And may all our intelligence and humanitarianism now assist in this rebirth.
