Mercury went retrograde (read more about Mercury retro here) for the last time this year on the morning of the 6th October, and will go direct again on 26th October.
However, despite the internalised awareness of Mercury retrograde, in October things seem to be heating up for the next Uranus/Pluto square. I’ve drawn the chart for the total Lunar eclipse, which happens on Wednesday here in Melbourne at 9:55pm on 8th October. The most powerful influence at first glance of the chart, is that Uranus is conjunct the Aries moon, and I feel this is a sort of heads-up for the up-and-coming Uranus/Square in late November. (Especially since the Sun and Moon are also square Pluto). The Sun is conjunct Venus (the ruler of Libra), the planet of beauty, balance relationships and Love. Expect some stirrings and/or upheavals in your relationships, probably especially where you relate to another on an emotional level. Uranus always brings awakenings, whether they come in the form of unexpected events or circumstances, sudden changes, arrivals, departures, and new thought patterns and processes, inventions and innovations. Uranus is the planet of excitement, and in its rulership of Aquarius, it electrifies the senses; enthusiasm and neurological pathways are lit up with innovative new directions and concepts. Expect the unexpected! The Lunar Eclipse is also aligned quite closely to the Moon’s North and South Nodes, also known as the Dragon’s head and tail. The asteroid Vesta (about sacrifice and commitment) is also making a hard aspect to both of them (semi-square and sesquiquatrate). The Moon’s nodes have to do with soul’s memory and deeply embedded belief systems. Lunar eclipses are about letting go of things from the past, purging the memory (of the mind and on a cellular level) of thoughts, concepts and beliefs which no longer serve you. With Uranus, Vesta and Venus so close by, truths will surface in your closer relationships, and some compromises might need to be reached to accommodate the changes. Soul connections will need extra listening time, and empathy will bring balance and peace. I will write about the partial Solar Eclipse in Scorpio on 24th October (Melbourne time) in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.
