![]() In the thick of the big Uranus square Pluto transit I spoke about in several previous articles, any of the faster moving planets which come into aspect with either of these two revolutionaries will act as a catalyst to release some of the energy of their interaction. Uranus in Aries is daring us to express what is true for each of us, rather than conforming to the sleep-walk of conditioning and society’s expectations for the status quo. Pluto in Capricorn will help ground and stabilize the momentum of this into something for the common good. Pluto is always at its most potent when dealing with issues at the core of survival, and these are times in which we are closely examining survival issues for all life on our precious Earth. Mercury squared Uranus on the 3rd of January, and will square Pluto on January 6th at 10 degrees Capricorn. Here is an opportunity for us to allow our minds to start interpreting the Zeitgeest: the flavour of the Uranus/Pluto square, finding words to express the nature of this transformational aspect. If there’s something you want to protest about then now is the time to write letters to the editors of media, join in with discussions on social media or blogs which move you: find your voice and help with the breaking up of old-world models which are not working for us as we move forward into these precarious times: the birth of a new humanity. If you were around in the mid-sixties you will remember how we took to the streets and generated a wake-up call of a whole generation. As the old systems breakdown their power is weakening, and the biggest changes are coming from the grass roots up. On January 7th Mars in Aquarius will come into a square with Saturn in Scorpio. In traditional astrology this aspect was often described as a death or an ending of something. I still think that applies, and I also see it as the ‘editing’ transit. Time to cull all those unnecessary belief systems, ideas and objects which no longer serve your needs. Both Aquarius and Scorpio are able to be (or strive to be) minimalists, keeping things simple and streamlined. You’ll feel obstructed and frustrated at this time if you are holding onto outmoded obstacles of clutter from your past in the form of concepts or material surroundings. The New Moon on the 11th January joins Mercury, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn. The feminine energy of the New Moon in Capricorn, sheds a silvery feminine luminosity into the hard-working planets in Capricorn and hopefully assist in the process already underway for women’s rights. Venus will square Uranus on January 12th at 5 degrees of Capricorn/Aries and conjunct Pluto at 10 degrees Capricorn on January 16th. The world wide protesting for women’s rights as well as an end to brutal ancient traditions in the Middle East and especially in India lately will continue and gain momentum as the powerful square pushes for equality and justice for all of humanity.
