![]() Spring Equinox ~ October 2013 Our Spring Equinox down here in the Southern Hemisphere coincided with the so-called ‘Harvest Moon’ late last week, so-named in the Northern Hemisphere, and associated with creation and new beginnings. I think its safe to say, we are all sensing Spring rising up and warming the Earth, flora and fauna coming alive again after the chill of winter. Our faces lighting up with smiles and bodies relaxing into the soft warm air. The chart for the Equinox has the moon exalted in Taurus, the nature lover, rewarded with Spring, and the sensual aromas of the warming earth and her buds of joy and new life. The Taurus Moon is opposing Saturn, North Node and Venus in Scorpio and triggers the big and rare Grand Trine who’s influence we are still experiencing. (Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune conjunct Chiron in Pisces here’s what Melissa says ”This heavenly configuration which began to form in late June is one of the most important in our lifetime. A grand water trine is an aspect involving 3 or more planets in all 3 water signs which happens regularly. This Grand Trine is different because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event! It involves Jupiter in Cancer (occurs once in 12 years), Saturn in Scorpio (every 30 years) and most importantly Neptune in Pisces which happens only every 164 years and is more significant because Neptune rules Pisces, so is most powerful in its own sign.” We are still under the influence of this Grand-trine ….and the Taurus moon opposing one of its points creates a kite-pattern is a catalyst for some of the more potent karmic lessons of responsibility in relationships. The Sun in Libra certainly puts us on notice to engage in our personal relationships. And the truth is that all our relationships form pieces in the greater puzzle of humankind, and its getting more and more crucial that we find a way of living and sharing our beautiful planet peacefully, as the environmental cataclysms threaten food and water shortages; the revolutions and revolts in the Middle East, wipe out civilisations and their people, and the powerful testing of values invoked by the big Pluto/Uranus (blog) square whose transformational forces we are still subject too: huge awakenings and quickening brushing away the cobwebs of the past established status quo, jolted and shaken into a new paradigm. This month Pluto goes direct after five months of being retrograde. Pluto reminds us that all external annoyances “out there” are in fact internal parts of ourselves projected onto life’s outer screen. Again its about taking responsibility for this, as the mutual reception of Saturn in Pluto’s home sign of Scorpio reminds us. Responsibility: the ability to respond! Mars went into Leo end August and will be there until 15th October, it will then move into Virgo, where it can implement in a practical way the fiery passions it may have visited whilst in Leo. It will oppose Neptune in Pisces for a few days (19th-20th Nov) which is an excellent time to move into one’s ideals, and visualise the world you dream of. If you find yourself feeling dissipated or exhausted, spend time near the ocean, or even soaking in a pool or bath will help hold you with this transit. Mercury in Scorpio goes retrograde on 21st October until November 11th. Its only in Western astrology really that retrograde Mercury has gained such bad press. Especially in Scorpio, you are being invited into the deep interior spaces of your psyche: dive in and take some time out, and you won’t be dogged by computers or phones going on the blink. There is a lot of potential of healing deep old patterns, the programs we often hold on a cellular level in our bodies early in October as the quincunx of Saturn, to Uranus, and its trine to Chiron support this kind of DNA shifting. On the 18th of October until Nov 16th we have another exact Pluto square Uranus hit, so there could be some more big movements in our institutions, as collective values keep changing and evolving. Take good care, allow yourself to feel all the feelings, this way deep healings can happen. Get support if you have fear or anger to clear, as now is the time for big openings.
